Carmen and Eva Beining

The Carmen and Eva Beining Fund donated $2,193 with the Platteville Community Fund to purchase an additional washer and dryer for the 6 to 8 individuals/families that reside at Family Advocates' shelter.

Supply Drive

Anytime Fitness held a supply drive to get the much needed items for the shelter such as paper towel, dish and laundry soap, toilet paper, etc.

Privacy Fence

The DRA partially funded a privacy fence surrounding the children's' playground equipment and the backyard of the shelter. This fencing will allow for additional privacy, safety and security for the children and families staying at our shelter.

The fence is scheduled to be erected in the Spring of 2022.

Scentsy Buddies

Four independent Scentsy agents collected donations and provided the shelter with over $6,500 worth of Scentsy Products to give to children and families for Christmas presents and any left over will be used for Easter and birthdays!

Fall Auction (Pasty Dinner)

Each year First Congregational Church of Christ organizes a Pasty Dinner and donates a portion of the funds to a charity.  In 2020, due to the pandemic, the dinner turned into an online auction to raise funds.  

The Church chose Family Advocates as a donation recipient of over $950!

These four ladies helped organize a community fundraiser to supply children with Scentsy Buddies as Christmas Gifts.  They donated over 150 Scentsy Buddies to our Platteville Giving Tree!  Scentsy Buddies are a multi-sensory experience.  Special needs children and adults often fall in love with Scentsy Buddies for just this reason.

Pioneer Ford donated $1,000 this month! $500 was to kick start the Platteville Community Giving Tree project to help families in the area who have been impacted by the pandemic who may need help this holiday season. The remainder of the donation helped to keep the shelter stocked with pandemic cleaning and protective supplies.

Teen Summit

The Optimist organization awarded Family Advocates with funding to help send young adults from Platteville schools to a Teen Summit from End Abuse Wisconsin.

Teens will explore ways to promote healthy relationships and prevent dating violence and sexual assault. The goal is to learn new strategies for successful prevention and education on teen issues.
